Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using the Summexa Chrome extension (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service.
Description of Service
Summexa is a browser extension that generates a written summary of a YouTube video you are watching. It retrieves a transcript for the video, either from an existing source or by transcribing the audio, and uses an AI model to produce a summary displayed in a sidebar next to the video player. Summaries are limited to a daily free quota per browser.
The extension also offers an "Open in Harkixsha" option, which sends the video's transcript to Harkixsha AI, a separate chat assistant product from the same team, so you can continue asking questions about the video there.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the extension for its intended purpose. This license does not grant you any right to the underlying source code, infrastructure, or branding beyond what is needed to use the Service normally.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Send automated or scripted requests to our backend outside of normal use of the extension
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with rate limiting or abuse-prevention systems
- Reverse engineer the Service in order to access it without the extension
- Use the Service to process content you do not have the right to view or summarize
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law
We may suspend or block access for any use that falls outside of what this Service is intended for.
Third-Party Video Content
Summexa summarizes video content hosted on YouTube. We do not own, host, or control that content. Your use of YouTube itself remains subject to YouTube's own terms of service. A generated summary is an automated interpretation of a video's spoken content and may not be fully accurate or complete.
Availability
The Service depends on third-party transcription and AI providers, and on infrastructure that may occasionally be under maintenance or experience downtime. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Service.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Summaries are generated automatically and should not be relied upon as a substitute for watching the source video when accuracy matters.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of Summexa is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including reliance on an inaccurate or incomplete summary.
Changes to the Service
We may update, modify, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes through the extension or this website.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the extension. We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these terms, in particular the acceptable use section above.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict of law principles.
